Perfect design August 3, 2009 Josh Wright (Gloucestershire.) 49 out of 52 found this review helpful
I have had by iPhone for a while now and still love the feel of it. The plastic replacement for the previously metal back for the phone is much nicer to touch and fits nicely into the hand.
The camera, although specification-wise is not as good as the camera on some other phones it is still brilliant.
The battery power is surprisingly good compared to the amount of energy running all these tasks must take up.
Literally thousands of applications download; some more useful than others. Your iPhone becomes worth the rather expensive original cost you paid for it.
The internet is quicker to open up and load a page than if you had to use a computer and is ideal for simpler tasks.
Also the inbuilt music player which is basically an iPod touch makes playing music amazingly simple.
Typing using the "QWERTY" touch keyboard is a lot easier than it may initially appear. Although one suggestion I would have is the possibility of having an additional stylus allowing hand-writing recognition is you so desired.
An excellent buy and the money will be well worth it.
Only one complaint..... July 15, 2009 E. Millward (England) 20 out of 25 found this review helpful
I have the 8g version, and it's brilliant. The internet is very quick to download,Photographs are second to none, and it is so easy to use. I am a senior citizen, so if I can use it anyone can!
My only complaint is that it doesn't have a bar to connect your mobile 'danglies'.
Expensive....yes...but it is worth every penny.

Easy to use, touch screen with easy access menus, easy texting via qwerty keyboard, good quality camera with editing software. Stores a massive amount of music - saves space in pocket by combining ipod and phone.
Good battery life

i have the 16gb version but its just the same you can usethe maps as satnav anywhere on the planet through google earth it already has ipod touch which mean videos music and audio books are available and you can play really good games (ive abandoned my psp) and anything you dont have you can download even albums. more uses than any other phone i know worth every penny, just think a satnav in europe only does england and ireland or europe and england for 180 quid at cheapest and i pod touch is 250 and both in this phone and the sat nav is the world great stuff
The best phone ever bar maybe the 3GS March 12, 2010 GM (Scotland) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got my iPhone 8GB 3G at Christmas just past, I really wanted a 3GS but couldn't justify the extra expense for a compass, video and slightly faster processor. In any case you can download a video recorder, compass etc for the 3G which I have done already.
Having used a HTC Touch Diamond from work for the past 18 months the iPhone was a revelation. The ease of use is incredible.
People say other phones do everything an iPhone can do. Perhaps, but the iPhone does it all so much better.
I remember getting a Nokia camera phone for the first time round about 2003 but once you had sent a text or taken a call there was not much else to do with it. The camera novelty wore off pretty quickly. The Nokia N97, only out in 2007 already seems like an antique.
With the iPhone you never get bored with it. There's email to check, Facebook to check, tweets to read and the fantastic internet capabilities mean the REAL internet is right there at your fingertips, easy to read and navigate. Your favourite forums and youtube videos ready to watch. You can read ebooks with Stanza and listen to your music with the built in iPod. Sky News videos and RSS feeds. The fun never ends.
I've even got Tom Tom Sat Nav on my iphone which works beautifully.
I've read people complaining about the battery life which is not great if you're using the sat nav or have the ipod on for several hours but for normal phoning, texting and internet use (and using a dimmed screen with wi-fi off) I've had 48 hours out of the phone.
The only real downside for me is the lack of flash capability which is the video format of most websites.
Simply put, an utterly tremendous device when used properly. Most people who complain about the iPhone don't deserve one as it is wasted on them, they have no idea what they hold in their hands - they'd be better off with just a phone. When you know what to do and want to explore its capabilities you realise it has no peers.
