I recently replaced my entire hi-fi as it was getting on a bit, and along with Cambridge Audio A740 amp and C740 CD player, it's a fine sounding combo!
I managed to audition them at home with a pair of KEF iQ5s, and these Tangents are far better sounding, not to mention a million times better looking!
They seem to be close to what used to be described as 'Studio Monitor' speakers, appearing at first to be a bit 'inert' if that makes sense, but in truth, they simply relay the musical information to your ears ( and your feet! ) without adding much in the way of colouration. Needless to say for such large floorstanders, the bass is generous without being overpowering, with the proviso that Tangent recommends that they be allowed at least 50cm clearance from the back and side walls. In truth, if you don't have this space available to allow them to work properly, then the bass can be just a little too much.
Special mention must also be given to the finish, and even the packaging of these speakers, which come individually boxed, wrapped in a huge cotton drawstring bag, with a pair of white cotton gloves to wear so you don't get mucky fingerprints on them! Which brings me to the 'piece de resistance', namely the impressively shiney cabinets. Mine are black, ( Don't know if I could live with these red ones, bit too much of a fashion statement for me ) but they look absolutely stunning in their high-gloss finish, and seem very well constructed, too.
To sum up, definitely worth a look, and a listen if you've got a decent sized room and good gear to partner them with. 5 out of 5!

I haven't bought a pair of these speakers, so cant comment on them. However, I did call amazon, to confirm that this price is for a single speaker, not a pair of speakers. I almost bought them thinking I was paying for a pair, not one...
